Ceiling fan size chart: mm to inches
Fan size is usually given as sweep: the diameter of the circle traced by the blade tips. In India, the metric size is the clearest number to compare. Inch labels are rounded, so two numbers such as 1200mm and 48 inches can describe the same nominal fan size.

How to measure sweep
Switch off the fan and wait for it to stop. Measure from the centre of the motor to the tip of one blade, then double that distance. Measure straight across, not along the blade's curve. For example, a centre-to-tip measurement of about 600mm indicates a sweep near 1200mm (about 47 inches, commonly sold as 48 inches).
Sweep is the diameter of the blade-tip circle, not the length of one blade. It describes the fan's physical span; it does not tell you the fan's air delivery or energy use. Compare air delivery in CMM as well as sweep when comparing fans.
